Dr. Eric Cartaya received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida International University. Professor Cartaya’s areas of expertise include Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. His thesis topic is “Mental Model Formation Assessment: An empirical look at the validity of differing assessment methods and the antecedents leading to mental model formation.” He has researched and is writing on the impact of “openness to experience” and “extraversion” on the relationship between frame of reference training and rater accuracy.

His professional experience includes working as a consultant for Organizational Performance Dimensions in Coral Gables, Florida. He developed and presented lectures and workshops on a wide range of employment issues including: discrimination, workplace safety, conflict resolution and leadership. He also developed and implemented complete compensation programs including: job analysis and descriptions and pay grade structures. He is a student affiliate member of the Academy of Management.
