Isabel Alfonsin-Vittoria

Isabel Alfonsin-Vittoria is a licensed psychotherapist and employee assistance administrator with over 30 years of diverse clinical programs management experience. Her clinical profession has included: development and oversight of local and national behavioral health clinics and hospitals as well as employee assistance and health and wellness programs. Isabel is a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher and a life coaching specialist.

As Director of the Office of Employee Assistance at Florida International University since 2015, she oversees administration of program operations and employee assistance clinical services. Major services include confidential consultation, assessment, counseling, referral coordination, and case management. Additionally, she serves as consultant to faculty, staff, and university administrators on employees’ health and wellness issues. She is a critical incident stress manager and the Chair of the university’s faculty and staff threat assessment team. Isabel also serves as the Chair of the university’s alcohol and other drugs task force. At FIU Isabel develops and conducts psycho-educational workshops to enhance faculty and staff quality of life, resilience, and worklife integration. Lastly, Isabel is a national presenter at mental health, employee assistance professional and human resource conferences.

Isabel is currently serving as the President of the International Association of Employee Assistance Professionals in Higher Education.

Isabel was born and raised in Miami, FL. She is an FIU alumna earning both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology. Isabel describes herself as a servant leader aiming to bring more inclusion, support, mindfulness, and compassion to the world. Isabel is married to her best friend, David, also an FIU alum, and they are the proud parents of their adult daughter and son. Isabel and David enjoy traveling, theatre and the arts and are involved in mental health advocacy in the tri county area.
