Kennedy Space Center (KSC)

Nathalie Guevara is a Lead for Program Strategic Planning at NASA, Kennedy Space Center (KSC). In her current role, she works with executives to establish their organizational strategy and culture. She also assists the Center is developing and implementing the KSC leadership strategy. As part of her work in Human Resources, she has worked in the area of Organizational Development for several years. In that role, she supported different groups across KSC in matters relating to team dynamics, large change management efforts, and succession management.

Prior to joining NASA, Nathalie worked at Denison Consulting in the Research and Development Department. In her role, she conducted applied research in the areas of leadership and organizational culture. She has published in both books and journals and has presented in several academic conferences on the topic of leadership. Nathalie received her BA in Human Resource Management and Psychology from Florida International University and her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Wayne State University. Outside of her professional career, Nathalie and her husband have a successful business and are passionate about creating a family culture of love, impact, freedom, and excellence. 

Nathalie has experience with group facilitation, survey design and validation,  and organizational health assessments. She is also certified in assessments such as Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI), Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC, among others. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, women in leadership, cross-cultural leadership, organizational culture, surveys, and team-building.

Dorothy Carter

University of Georgia

Dr. Dorothy Carter is an Assistant Professor in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at the University of Georgia. Her research investigates the factors that enable teams and larger collectives to tackle complex challenges in contexts such as corporate organizations, the military, medicine, scientific collaboration, and long-duration space exploration.

Dr. Carter’s research on leadership and teams has appeared in numerous top outlets in the organizational sciences including  Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, American Psychologist, The Leadership Quarterly,  and her current research projects are supported by funding from the National Aeronautical and Space Agency (NASA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Army Research Institute (ARI), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) .

She was the recipient of the 2017 Alvah H. Chapman Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Florida International University’s Center for Leadership, the 2019 Rising Star in Leadership Research Award from the Exeter University’s Centre for Leadership, and the 2020 Charles B. Knapp Early Career Scholar Award from the University of Georgia.
