Amplify your Leadership with a whisper

I'm trying to help people think about leadership differently, as something we practice, not just achieve and stop learning. Every leader can continually be advancing her or his skills.” This was the goal for Dr. Nathan J. Hiller’s keynote presentation at the LEAD2017 Conference, held recently in Nashville, TN, and presented annually by  HR.com. Each year, this prestigious two-day conference brings HR professionals from around the world to learn insights and tools for better leadership.

Dr. Hiller, Academic Director at the Center for Leadership at Florida International University (FIU) followed in the footsteps of outstanding presenters in previous years such as former President Bill Clinton, and Vice President for GE Healthcare, Raghu Krishnamoorthy, with his presentation titled “Amplify Your Leadership with a Whisper.”

“I shared with attendees small actions that can have an enormous impact for the people on a leader’s team,” Dr. Hiller says.

Dr. Hiller has been a Fellow of the Center for Leadership since 2005, and is the Faculty Director and primary facilitator in The Center’s  Senior Executive Leaders Program  and  The High-Potential Leaders Program  – both being four-day residence, intensive leadership development programs designed to accelerate leadership capacity. He oversees the academic content of all Center for Leadership programs and is one of the primary session facilitators. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Management and International Business at FIU. His areas of expertise include leadership and leadership development, psychology of top executives, human capital development, organizational change and transformations, and organizational culture.

His research has appeared in most of the top journals in the field of management, including: Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and The Leadership Quarterly. Dr. Hiller is a recipient of the Kenneth Clark Award for innovative leadership research and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology and The Leadership Quarterly. He has held visiting faculty appointments at Cornell University and the University of Washington and he has taught a graduate leadership course at Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro.
