Claudia Packer joined the Center for Leadership at Florida International University (The Center), as a Coordinator for Administrative Services, in August 2017. In this role, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Center, including financial management and office support. She also provides administrative support to The Center’s directors and coordinates the activities for The Center’s external Board of Advisors.
Prior to joining The Center, she worked for the College of Medicine at Florida International University as a Travel Specialist, where she coordinated travel arrangements and logistics for the faculty, administrative staff, and specially invited guests to the college. She also assisted with control and compliance as it relates to the college’s travel budget. Prior to FIU, Claudia worked as a Lecturer at the Excelsior Community College, where she taught Hospitality Management Courses in the Bachelor’s degree program. She has several years of experience in event planning and management, having worked at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center, and also with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. She also worked with HRC International Inc. as a Program Manager, where she developed practical-based hotel training programs for international hospitality graduates.
Claudia earned her Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is also a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE®) from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).
