Message from the Executive Director   Featured Leader

What an invigorating year!

This past semester alone we honored the 2013 Transcendent Leader, Knight Foundation CEO Alberto Ibargüen, who exemplifies leadership in our community and we recognized the work of Dr. Susan Amat, a social entrepreneur forging the way for young leaders to succeed. We hosted the father of positive psychology, Dr. Martin Seligman, before a standing-room-only audience and were joined at our annual Leadership Colloquium by Dr. Amy Ou, professor and researcher from the University of Singapore, who presented her work on humble CEOs. Additionally, we were joined by Carlos Migoya, CEO of Jackson Health System, in a candid conversation about leadership and healthcare issues in our community and welcomed Vatican Council II Professor of Theology, Father Robert Schreiter, author of over eighteen books, who spoke on the power and promise of social reconciliation.

The Center's mission remains unchanged: to equip individuals and organizations in building ethical and effective leadership capacity. Through The Chapman Leadership Honors, The Leadership Lectures series, the Leadership Research Colloquium, the distinguished Faculty Series, and the Miami Leadership Dialogues, the Center hosted more than 1000 of you over the past three months. We are honored that so many of you attended these events and encourage you to continue to take advantage of these free opportunities to further your own leadership development.

Join us during 2014 as we present even more of these opportunities – together we can continue to make a difference by building Better Leaders, for a Better World.

From all of us at the Center, we wish you the best of holidays and continued success in all your endeavors in the coming year!

With warm best wishes,

Modesto "Mitch" Maidique
