Gabriela Romeu recently joined the Florida International University (FIU) Center for Leadership (The Center), as a Program Coordinator, in July 2016. In this role, Gabriela is responsible for the logistics, planning, and coordination for all of The Center’s open-enrollment programs, which include the High-Potential Leaders Program, the Leadership Essentials: One-Day Workshop, various Programs supported by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, as well as the Leadership Lectures, which are free and open to the public.
Prior to joining The Center, Gabriela worked for the College of Pharmacy at Nova Southeastern University as an International Program Coordinator, where she worked with international students and coordinated their study abroad program. She also worked with Jose’s Hands and the Emmaus Medical Mission to send six pharmacy students to Guatemala in order to treat orphaned and malnourished children.
Gabriela also spent two years as an English Language Instructor in Okinawa, Japan with the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program.
Gabriela holds both a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Relations and a Master’s of Arts in Asian Studies from Florida International University.
