Beesham A. Seecharan is a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he advises its equity derivatives and convertibles businesses and co-leads the Americas Derivative Documentation Group. Beesham also is a member of the Legal Department’s People Development Committee and the Legal, Compliance & Internal Audit Asian Professional Network Steering Committee.
Beesham joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 after working as a Vice President and an Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase advising its equity derivatives businesses. Beesham previously worked in the New York and London offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell from 1998 to 2004. Prior legal experience includes work at Shearman & Sterling, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Department of Education.
Beesham received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Stone Scholar each year and received the Parker School Certificate in Foreign and Comparative Law, and received an M.S. in Mathematics and an A.B. in International Relations from Stanford University. Beesham serves on the Board of Visitors of Columbia Law School and on the Board of Advisors of the Florida International University Center for Leadership. Beesham previously served on the boards of South Asian Youth Action (SAYA)! and the Columbia Law Student Association.
