Angelica Alvarez joined the Florida International University (FIU) Center for Leadership (the Center) in November 2015, as a Program Coordinator. In this role, Angelica is responsible for the logistics, planning and coordination for all of The Center’s open-enrollment programs, which include the Women Leaders Program, the Senior Executive Leaders Program, various Programs supported by Miami Dade County Public Schools, as well as the Leadership Lectures, which are free and open to the public.
Prior to coming to the Center, Angelica worked for the Earth Ethics Institute at Miami Dade College as a Program Professional where she worked with students, faculty, and staff to raise environmental awareness. She did so through the planning of programs and events focused on sustainability, as well as through working with faculty to incorporate Earth Literacy and Sustainability within their course curriculum.
Angelica holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Society and Environment from the University of California—Berkeley, and a Master’s degree from Florida International University in Higher Education Administration.
